Effective Date: July 31, 2026
Borinquen Terrier LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) publishes College Executive Function (“CEF” or “the App”), an app that helps students organize academic deadlines and study plans. This Privacy Policy explains what data the App accesses, how it’s used, how it’s protected, and where it’s stored — separately from Borinquen Terrier’s other services.
How CEF Accesses, Uses, Stores, and Shares Google User Data
If you choose to connect a Google account, CEF requests a single Google API scope: Google Calendar.
Access. CEF accesses your Google Calendar data (your list of calendars and events) only after you grant permission through Google’s consent screen.
Use. CEF uses your Google Calendar data solely to provide the App’s user-facing features: reading your calendars so you can pick one, and creating, updating, or deleting the academic events the App generates for you. CEF does not use Google user data for advertising, does not sell it, does not use it to develop or train AI or machine-learning models, and does not send it to any AI service, including Google Gemini.
Storage. Calendar events the App creates or reads are stored locally on your device, in the App’s private, sandboxed storage. Your Google sign-in tokens are likewise stored only in the App’s private storage on your device. Borinquen Terrier LLC operates no server that stores your Google user data, and we never hold a copy of it.
Sharing. CEF does not share, transfer, or disclose Google user data to any third party. The only party your calendar data is exchanged with is Google itself, via the Google Calendar API, under the scope you authorized.
Limited Use disclosure: CEF’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The use and transfer of raw or derived Google user data is limited to providing and improving the App’s user-facing features; it is never used for advertising, never sold, never transferred to third parties, and never used to train AI or machine-learning models.
The App does not request access to your Google Drive, Gmail, or any other Google service.
Files You Import
When you import a syllabus or other document, you choose the file yourself using your device’s native file picker (Files app, Google Drive app, etc.). The App reads only the specific file(s) you select — it does not browse or scan your device or cloud storage on its own.
AI Processing (Google Gemini)
To extract deadlines and generate study plans, the App sends the text of documents you import — and related prompts — to Google’s Gemini AI API, using an API key you provide yourself. That content goes to Google as a Gemini customer request, governed by Google’s own Gemini API terms and privacy practices, not by us.
Your Google Calendar data is never sent to Gemini or any other AI service. Only the documents you explicitly import for processing are used.
Diagnostic Telemetry
The App records limited technical operational data (for example, feature timing and error information) solely to provide, troubleshoot, and improve the App’s functionality — purposes permitted under Google’s Limited Use requirements. This telemetry never includes the contents of your documents or calendar events, and is never used for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to operating the App.
How We Protect Your Data
Encryption in transit. All communication between the App and Google’s APIs (Calendar, OAuth, Gemini) uses HTTPS/TLS encryption.
Local, sandboxed storage. Your calendar events, imported sources, study plans, sign-in tokens, and Gemini API key are stored only on your device, inside the App’s private storage area, which the operating system (iOS/Android) isolates from other apps and protects with device-level encryption when your device lock is enabled.
No server-side copies. We do not operate a server that stores your personal data, which eliminates the risk of a server-side breach of your information.
Data minimization. The App requests the narrowest Google scope needed (Calendar only) and reads only the files you explicitly select.
Revocation. You can revoke the App’s access at any time (see “Your Choices” below), which immediately invalidates its ability to access your Google data.
Where Your Data Lives
CEF stores your calendar events, sources, and study plans locally on your device. We do not operate a server that stores your personal data — Borinquen Terrier LLC does not have a copy of your calendar, documents, or Gemini API key.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with third parties for advertising or marketing. The only data leaving your device is: (1) Calendar reads/writes to Google, via the scope you authorized, and (2) document text you chose to import, sent to Google’s Gemini API for processing using your own API key.
Your Choices
You can disconnect Google Calendar access at any time from within the App, or by revoking the App’s access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
You can delete a Gemini API key from the App’s settings at any time.
Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data, including your Google sign-in tokens.
Data Retention and Deletion
All of your data — calendar events, imported sources, study plans, Google sign-in tokens, and your Gemini API key — lives only on your device, so you are always in direct control of it. The App retains it only for as long as you keep the App installed. You can delete individual sources, events, and study plans from within the App at any time. Disconnecting your Google account from within the App deletes the stored sign-in tokens. Uninstalling the App permanently deletes all locally stored data. Because we operate no server that stores your personal data, there are no server-side copies for us to retain or delete.
Children’s Privacy
CEF is intended for college students and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the App changes. The effective date above reflects the most recent revision.
